Odor Control Application Results


Direct or indirect application to solid form odor sources : Rotten cat urine (3-mercapt, 3-methyl) was used to show the effects of liquid Odor Control sprayed onto the solid form odor sources. Odor Control diluted with water for application is directly and homogeneously sprayed to odor source.

The results obtained according to the replies from the subjects in the study conducted by standard sampling method are shown in graphic 1. After the application of a small dose, Odor Control completely removed the odor in time.
When a similar type but different study is carried out in humid hotel rooms, 5% of Odor Control solution was applied in a single dose maximum once a day for odor emanated continuously from the source of humid.

The odor was not perceived again for 24-48 hours after single dose was applied once a day to hotel rooms for the odor emanating from uncertain source continuously. The dose should be repeated at the end of this period.

Efficiency on Gaseous Amines: A certain amount of cyclohexylamine was sprayed into a closed drum and waited until it evaporates for determining the efficiency of Odor Control on volatile amines. Therefore, a certain amount of Odor Control was sprayed in the closed drum ambient containing cyclohexylamine that already became homogeneous. Time dependent change of Odor Control applied drum and cyclohexylamine concentration in the control drum can be seen from Graphic 2.

Efficiency on Hydrogen Sulfur (HS2) : Anaerobic digestion of activated sludge put in a closed tank was encouraged during the study relating to H2S gas which is the main reason for odor problems in waster water treatment facilities. 0,1% of water-based Odor Control solution was sprayed thereafter.
As may be seen from the measurements of H2S concentration in the gas samples taken from the tank at certain intervals (Graphic 3), H2S concentration which is at the level of 700 ppm at the beginning of application was reduced up to 200 ppm. The increase of HS2 concentration up to 800 ppm as a result of anaerobic digestion following the termination of application shows the efficiency of Odor Control.
